ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
• This is the last week of the Diaper Drive. So far, we have collected over 1000 diapers. For more info, click here.  
• Green Up Day is May 4. If you can help, contact Taylor.
• Spring Food Drive will take place on May 11. To sign up, contact President Emma.
 
Trex Plastics Challenge Update
 
The fifth and sixth bench have been installed in the bus stop on Main Street in front of the Springfield Coop. We have already collected 553 pounds towards our seventh bench which will go to the library. To date, 4,686 pounds of plastic film (over 2 tons!) have been removed from the waste stream, delivered to Shaw's Supermarket, and heading to Trex Company for recycling. Please continue to bring your plastic wrap to the Springfield Town Library. We need more volunteers to help sort at the Library, please contact Sue Dowdell.

SERVICE ABOVE SELF

President Emma welcomed all to the April 30, 2024 club meeting held in the conference room at Senior Solutions. For the thought of the day, Emma offered this quote by Joseph Wirthlin: “Sometimes we should express our gratitude for the small and simple things like the scent of the rain, the taste of your favorite food, or the sound of a loved one's voice.”

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS: Christian Craig and Patti Putnam

  • Emma: Her sister got married in CT with 200 in attendance.

  • Deb: Sue drove her to PETS.

  • Deb: She was inspired by PETS.

  • Deb: Celebrating her 3 week anniversary with Jerry.

  • Deb: Grandson turned 8

  • Sue: Good time at PETS.

  • Sue: Snowbirds are home.

  • Karen: Good vacation with grandson in Myrtle Beach.

  • Karen: Accepted position as Creative Director for Service Now.

  • Karen: Bumped into a CT Rotarian at Bradley Airport.

  • Taylor: Phase one of Chamber office remodeling is done.

  • Alan: Happy to be part of Rotary. 

  • Jeff: Carrie finished her Masters.

  • Jeff: Carrie accepted position at Belows Falls Library.

  • Jeff: Lisa her PhD dissertation.

  • Ed: Celebrating the 43rd birthday of his eldest son.

  • Marty: His oldest daughter was 1 of 12 people accepted into a 6-week artist residency in Finland.
