Ruth Clough, District Governor for Rotary District 7870, recently visited the Springfield Rotary Club to share an update on Rotary’s work throughout southern Vermont and southern New Hampshire and the connections between local clubs and Rotary International.
Clough discussed the role of Rotary District 7870, which brings together Rotary clubs across the region, and how local service efforts are connected to Rotary International’s global network of more than 1.4 million members.
Her presentation highlighted the importance of collaboration among Rotary clubs and the many ways members can make an impact both locally and around the world.
“Rotary gives us the opportunity to make a difference right here in our own communities while being part of something much larger,” Clough said. “Our local projects are connected to a worldwide network of people who share a commitment to service.”
Clough also discussed opportunities for clubs within District 7870 to work together on service projects and strengthen connections throughout the district.
The Springfield Rotary Club is part of District 7870 and supports a variety of community service projects in Springfield and beyond. The club regularly hosts speakers who provide members with information about local organizations, community initiatives and issues affecting the region.
