• Holiday Party is scheduled for 12/7 at CPCC. For more info, contact Patti.
• Penny Sale: Saturday, October 19. Alan sold 64 raffles in front of Shaw's. Raffles will be sold Oct 8, 10,, 15 from 4-7 in front of Shaw', as well as Apple Festival. Prize listing will take place tonight. For more info, contact Jeff.
• Apple Festival: volunteers needed to help park cars. For more info, contact Deb.
• Literacy Project: We are donating 2nd & 3rd graders in Springfield and Chester with Rotary books. For more info, contact Emma.
• Best wishes for our Floridian friends as Milton approaches,
• Rest in peace longtime Springfield resident Jerry D. Szawerda
 
Trex Plastics Challenge Update
 
We have collected 867 pounds of plastic film towards our goal of 1000 pounds of plastic film for the ninth recycled bench that is earmarked for the Green on Main. Since February of 2023, 7010 pounds of plastic film (over 3-1/2 tons!) have been removed from the waste stream, delivered to Shaw's Supermarket, and heading to Trex Company for recycling. You can bring your plastic to the Springfield Town Library.

President Deb welcomed all to the Oct. 8, 2024 club meeting held at Maebelline's Restaurant. For the thought of the day, President elect Sue offered this quote by Henry Ford: "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right."

This member's clue was: "State champion for Rifle & Color Guard" — Karen received this honor in CT in 1982,

HAPPY EVENTS: 

  • Jeff: Spent a fun day with his granddaughter

  • Tom: His grandsons passed their hunter safety course.

  • Buddy: Looking forward to watching 3 soccer games and 3 hockey games with his grandkids.

RAFFLE:

The weekly prize of $5 was won by Astrid. The big pot now grows to $31. 

PROGRAM:

Turning Point Recovery Center of Springfield Vermont CEO Mike Johnson and COO Astrid Bradish-Hoyt presented their organization that just celebrated its 20th anniversary. Turning Point is a peer based network of support for all people affected by any type of addiction. To learn more about Turning Point, click here
