Minutes from Apr. 7, 2022: Bob made a motion to accept that was seconded by Ed; approved.
Financials: Jeff reported that we are in good shape. Motion to approve financial report was made by Bob and seconded by Carol; report approved.
Old Business
Clean Up Day: Club members will meet at 8 AM on Sat. May 7 in the Co-op parking lot. We will then proceed to clean up Valley Street.
Letter Carriers Food Drive: Club members will unload deliveries at the Springfield Family Center from 10-5. A news release has been distributed.
Butterfly Release Fundraiser: Members will be asked to purchase at least 5 butterflies (@$10) that will be released to remember and honor family and friends. The goal is to raise at least $3000; beneficiary of the fundraiser to be determined.
Little Free Libraries: Two of the six LFLs have been completed. We are on schedule for them to be auctioned by Town Library in mid-July.
2022-23 Committees: Karen will be distributing committee lists at next week's meeting.
New Business
- Members will be able to order Rotary tee shirts at next club meeting.
- Donations:
- Motion by Ed, seconded by Karen to donate $750 to Meals on Wheels; approved.
- Motion by Jeff, seconded by Bob to donate $250 to Edgar May Dam Run; approved
- Motion by Bob, seconded by Ed to donate $250 to Springfield Hospital Foundation.
- Karen will ask Social Committee chair Patty Putnam to explore moving club meetings to Harness House.
- Karen will ask Patty Putnam to explore options for "Changing of the Gavel" on June 28th.
- Motion by Carol, seconded by Liz to donate $125 to honor Jim's second term as president. Jim will be asked his preference.
- Jeff will pay Rotary Foundation $1965 that is in the budget.
- A subcommittee of the PR Committee will begin plans to celebrate the club's 95th anniversary in September.
- Karen will submit a Rotary District Grant application to address food insecurity in Springfield.
