• This is the last week of the Chester Music Series that we are sponsoring this year.

• The 60 rain suits and crocs for our District Grant to supply Springfield and Chester preschools have been ordered.
• Penny Sale: Tickets will be distributed next week for the event on Oct. 19.
• President Deb is looking into other venues for our club socials.
• The board voted to donate $1000 to the Amigos De Honduras District Rotary Program.
Trex Plastics Challenge Update
The eighth bench has been ordered and will be delivered to Springfield Town Library. We have collected 101 pounds of plastic film towards our goal of 1000 pounds of plastic film for a ninth recycled bench that is earmarked for Green on Main. Since February of 2023, 6,244 pounds of plastic film (over 3 tons!) have been removed from the waste stream, delivered to Shaw's Supermarket and heading to Trex Company for recycling. You can bring your plastic to the Springfield Town Library.

Marty: After a presentation to the Manassas Rotary Club about the BEAR Project at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, a Rotarian donated $10,000 towards the BEAR Project Job Program that will enable 10 college-bound students to earn $1000 for their upcoming school year.
RAFFLE:
The weekly prize of $6 was won by Marty. He also won the big pot of $100 which we donated to Black River Action Team.
PROGRAM:
Kelly Stettner talked about the Black River Action Team's history and its upcoming 25th Annual River Sweep cleanup on Sat., Sept 7th. For more info, click here. President Deb (l) presented Kelly with a check for $250 towards the cleanup.
