• Club's Food Distribution Project needs some individual peanut butter cups, cereal cups, and fruit cups. For more info, contact Karen.
• Butterfly Project will commence shortly. Butterflies will be sold during COMTU Park Friday concerts (August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29). Butterflies will be released at last concert. Members are encouraged to buy at least 10 butterflies. Volunteers are needed to sell at concerts. For more info, contact President Sue.

TREX PLASTIC CHALLENGE UPDATE
We have collected 957 pounds of plastic film towards our goal of 1000 pounds of plastic film for the thirteenth recycled bench that will be given to Springfield Parks & Recreation. To date, 11,103 pounds of plastic film (over 5-1/4 tons!) have been removed from the waste stream since we started this project in February of 2023, delivered to Shaw's Supermarket, and heading to Trex for recycling. Please continue to bring your plastic film to the Springfield Town Library. NOTE: We need volunteers to help sort the plastic at the Library. For more info, contact Alan.

PROGRAM:
Christine Edwins, the newly appointed Director of the Springfield Town Library, shared her vision for the future of the library. She highlighted plans to expand community outreach, modernize library services, and strengthen partnerships with local organizations. She talked about her ideas for making the library a more inclusive and dynamic space for all ages. Her enthusiasm and commitment to fostering lifelong learning in Springfield were warmly received.
