Happy Events:
Jeff's dad has moved to Elmwood in Claremont. He's making progress, hoping to get him home.
Deb's church finally has a fulltime pastor. It's been a long time. Loved the faces on the kids when Santa came to the party.
Karen thankful for the great party and how the kids loved Santa.
Marty's daughter and son-in -law closed on their new home and all the contractors that need to fix stuff are showing up!
Bob is happy Syracuse (alma mater) won the soccer finals. He was interviewed about his radio days at Syracuse too.
Sue Dana's daughter, Emma, is a receipent of VT Presidential Scholars for CTE - she's only 1 of 5 students to win this scholarship!
Steve's daughter gave birth to a son. All is well. What Steve will be called...is still up for discussion!
Carol is glad the party went so well and how our group seems to enjoy socializing with each other.
Ed and his wife Pam have recovered and he's back to his daily workouts in his homemade gym.
Buddy got to take in the Nutcracker for 3 hours on Sat. evening, 3 hours on Sun. afternoon and a hockey game. He loves being a grampa!
Peter and Steve were very busy with Sergeant at Arms!
The 50/50 was won by Marty $15 and the grand prize continues to grow at $161
We will continue to discuss and review DEI programs in the new year.
February is Literacy month and Union Street School would like us to come in and read to the students.
Our club will look into being a sponsor of an exchange student. The cost is about $2000.00 for the exchange fee and providing spending money for the student. Usually 3 families as hosts would be ideal.
Rotary meeting
December 13, 2022
Nolan Murray Center
12pm
Our presenter was our own, Jeff Mobus.
Jeff shared the ins and outs of how the funding is created, divided and used at the International, district and local levels in Rotary. The statistics and matching opportunities are incredible. The global matching with Bill and Melinda Gates foundation triples your donations. Karen put a jar at the snack table during the penny festival and we raised $217.00. The Gates foundation tripled that for Polio. How easy was that?
The link below gives a great outline of how to contribute. The best and easiest way is to give a check to JEFF!
Family Center grant has been completed and the money will provide shelving for the center. They will let us know when that project is ready to complete and perhaps we can help with some manpower?
Elm Hill School and Union Street School are looking forward to having us come in and read to the students. We're looking at dates in February. Jeff will keep us posted.
President Karen and her husband Chip will be hosting a holiday social at their home next Wed. Dec. 21st, 5:30pm. Please join us!
We need SPEAKERS. Please contact Liz when you have a person or group wishing to speak.
Future meetings will be held at the Nolan Murray Center. A menu from JC's will be sent out so you can place your lunch orders.
