• Butterfly Project has begun. Butterflies will be sold during COMTU Park Friday concerts. Next concert is Aug. 8. Butterflies will be released on Aug 22. Volunteers are needed to sell at concerts. For more info, contact President Sue.
TREX PLASTIC CHALLENGE UPDATE
We have collected the 1000 pounds of plastic for the thirteenth recycled bench that will be given to Springfield Parks & Recreation. To date, over5.5tons of plastic film have been removed from the waste stream since we started this project in February of 2023, delivered to Shaw's Supermarket, and heading to Trex for recycling. Please continue to bring your plastic film to the Springfield Town Library. We will begin collecting towards the 14th bench which will honor Lori Muse and be placed at Springfield Hospital. NOTE: We need volunteers to help sort the plastic at the Library. For more info, contact Alan.

Marty: Following a presentation, Hopkinton Rotary donated $2600 for kitchen appliances at Millie Horn Community Building on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Marty: Following a presentation, Henniker Rotary donated $2000 to help build a security fence for the Bear Safe Haven Program on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Marty: The BEAR Project installed the security cameras from the $1000 donated by Springfield Rotary Club.
Marty: Following a presentation, a anonymous Rotarian has pledged $5000 towards the purchase of a truck for the BEAR Project.
RAFFLE:
The weekly prize of $3 was won by Samantha Bell. The big raffle grows to $89.
PROGRAM:
Samantha Bell, Executive Director of Valley Health Connections gave an informative presentation introducing the organization’s mission and the vital role it plays in the local community. Valley Health Connections is a nonprofit that provides access to affordable health care for individuals and families who are uninsured or underinsured. Bell explained how the organization helps clients navigate the often-complex health care system, connecting them with insurance plans, financial assistance, and essential medical services.
