• Butterfly Project will commence shortly. Butterflies will be released at last COMTU Park concert on the last Friday in August.

TREX PLASTIC CHALLENGE UPDATE 
We have collected 873 pounds of plastic film towards our goal of 1000 pounds of plastic film for the thirteenth recycled bench that will be given to Springfield Parks & Recreation. To date, 11,019 pounds of plastic film (over 5-1/4 tons!) have been removed from the waste stream since we started this project in February of 2023, delivered to Shaw's Supermarket, and heading to Trex for recycling. Please continue to bring your plastic film to the Springfield Town Library. NOTE: We need volunteers to help sort the plastic at the Library. For more info, contact Alan.

SERVICE ABOVE SELF

President Sue welcomed all to the July 15, 2025 club meeting held at the Springfield Area Parent Child Training Center.  For the thought of the day, she offered this quote attributed to Bill Bradley:, “Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.

RAFFLE:

The weekly prize of $6 was won by Jim. The big raffle grows to $82.

PROGRAM:

Jim Fog, SHS Track Coach, gave a recent history of the SHS Track Team. Prior to COVID, there was only a 12-member track club. This year, there is a 55-member varsity track team. Among this year's highlights was the performance of SHS senior Cameron Williams. Cameron now only anchored the SHS State Champion Men’s 4x400m relay team, but also set the new school record in the solo 400m dash. Cameron is getting ready to serve our country in the US Army.
