ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
• 2023-24 Dues: Invoices have been emailed. If you have not received an invoice, contact Marty.
District Grant: We have received $1000 from District that we will match to help repair the football bleachers.
• 69th Annual Penny Sale: The event will take place on Sat. 10/21. If you need any more raffle tickets to sell, contact Jeff. For more info about prizes, contact Pres. Emma. Ed is looking into new banner and chairs. We will be selling rafffle tickets in front of Shaws 10/7 and 14 from 9-12;  10/17 from 3-6. If you can help, contact Liz.

Trex Plastics Challenge Update
 
We collected 512 pounds of plastic film towards the 500 pounds of plastic film needed for our fourth bench. So, the bench for the Black River Action Team has been ordered. To date, 2,128 pounds of plastic film have been removed from the waste stream, delivered to Shaw's, and heading to Trex for recycling. Volunteers are needed to help sort the plastic film at the library. If you can volunteer some time, contact Sue Dowdell.

President Emma welcomed all to the September 5, 2023 club meeting held at the Crown Point Country Club.

For our inspirational moment, President Emma offered this quote from CS Lewis:  “You can't go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

  • Emma: Celebrated her father's birthday and her wedding anniversary

  • Jeff: having Claremont Rotarians at meeting so he didn't have to mail a Rotary check

  • Carol: Happy to be here.

  • Deb: Painted her garage.

  • Ed G: Nice family gathering and learning that his grandkids like their teacher

  • Sue Dowdell: Spending time with her 2 grandkids, sister, and mom

  • Kayla: Thankful that Springfield responded to her presentation request

  • Bob: His brother's first visit since pandemic.

  • Alan: Happy to be invited to attend club meeting.

RAFFLE:

Ron won $5 that he turned back to the club. The big pot grew to $49.
