ANNOUNCEMENTS
• The district grant President Deb submitted for rain suits and crocs to supply for Springfield and Chester preschools has been approved.
• Summer Backpack Food Program has begun. For more info, contact Karen.
• The club will be sponsoring the Chester Music Series in July. Butterflies will be sold at the 5-week series starting on 7/11.
• Butterflies will be sold at the Springfield Street Festival on 7/13, as well as the the Comtu Music Series in August. Butterflies will be released on 8/23.
• Please submit your committee preferences to President Deb.
Trex Plastics Challenge Update
The seventh bench has been delivered to Springfield Library. We have collected 627 pounds of plastic film towards our goal of 1000 pounds of plastic film for an eighth recycled bench that will also go to the library. Since February of 2023, 5,769 pounds of plastic film (over 2-3/4 tons!) have been removed from the waste stream, delivered to Shaw's Supermarket, and heading to Trex Company for recycling. Bench 9 will go to Green on Main; bench 10 to Elm Hill School We need more volunteers to help sort at the Library, please contact Sue Dowdell.

The weekly prize of $6 was won by Ed G. The big pot grew to $76.
PROGRAM:
The scholarship committee (Bob F, Jim, and Ed) selected Lilly Farnsworth and Marshall Simpson as winner of this year's scholarships. Each will receive $3000. Lilly is planning to attend Roger Williams College to study architecture. Marshall is planning to attend Wheaton College to purse a career in nursing.
